Your custom timers, names, and dates are encoded directly into the URL hash/query string. We do not store your countdown events on our backend.
No signups, passwords, emails, or phone numbers required. You have complete anonymity while creating, viewing, and embedding timers.
We never sell, rent, or monetize your personal information or browsing behaviors to third-party data brokers or marketing networks.
1. Introduction
At CountdownTill ("we", "our", or "us"), we value your privacy above everything else. This Privacy Policy explains how our website operates, what data (if any) is processed when you visit our website or embed our widgets, and how we uphold strict standards of user privacy and transparency.
By using CountdownTill, you agree to the minimal data practices outlined in this policy.
2. How Our Client-Side Architecture Protects You
Unlike traditional web applications that require you to create an account and store your personal schedules in a centralized cloud database, CountdownTill uses a client-side state model:
- URL Parameters: When you customize a countdown title, target date, theme color, clock face style, or background image, that configuration is encoded directly into the URL parameters.
- Browser Execution: The countdown calculations run entirely inside your device's web browser using JavaScript. The countdown timing logic does not communicate with our server after the static page assets are loaded.
- Local Storage: We may store your preferred theme mode (
darkorlight) or recently created draft locally in your browser'slocalStorage. This data never leaves your device.
3. Information Automatically Processed
When you access our static pages or embed our widget frames, standard web server logs or edge network providers (such as Cloudflare or Vercel) may temporarily process standard technical request headers:
- IP address (for DDoS protection, bot filtering, and geographical routing)
- Browser user agent & device operating system
- HTTP referrer headers
- Date and timestamp of the network request
This server log information is used strictly for network security, rate limiting, and infrastructure health monitoring. It is not correlated with any individual identities.
4. Embedded Widgets (Notion, Obsidian, Webpages)
When you embed our widget on platforms like Notion, Obsidian, OBS Studio, or custom websites via an <iframe>, the widget functions in a sandboxed environment. We do not inject tracking pixels, cross-site trackers, or marketing tags into embed views.
5. Cookies & Tracking Technologies
CountdownTill does not use advertising cookies or invasive behavioral tracking beacons. Any browser storage utilized is purely functional (such as remembering your selected dark/light mode preference).
6. Your Privacy Rights (GDPR & CCPA/CPRA)
Because we do not store accounts or link personal identities to records, we do not maintain identifiable databases of personal user records. However, under privacy laws such as the European Union General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA):
